Hi Everyone

Not done this before so apologies if it is in the wrong place.

My 73 yr old father is trying to wire DRL'S into hih 11 plate 1.6 fiesta titanium diesel and having difficulty hes got 3 wires I assume black and red to the pos and neg terminals on the battery to other from the module to the positive side of the side light bulb he says this doesn't work hes been told the red needs to go to an aux live but he cant find one any ideas ?

however

since doing this the factory fitted front and rear parking sensors don't seem to work there is an alarm like a police siren going off and the sensor light inside the car is flashing everytime he put the car in reverse the police siren goes off and help please

especially if there is an auto electrician who covers ormskirk in Lancashire cheers

The red needs to go to a switched live connection, so I fuse tapped the live into the engine sensors fuse in the engine bay. The black went to the negative on the battery and the auto off switch went to the sidelight.

Now the police siren is a bit odd, it sounds like possibly the backup alarm is going off, or perhaps the parking module had developed a fault.

Pull the boot trim out and have a look at the module. Disconnect the wires and leave them all disconnected and put the car in reverse - does the issue still occur?

I have tried unplugging the module still the same the light in the button flashes and there is an alarm siren then 6 chimes but the parking sensors don't work any other ideast thx

Is it front and rear sensors you have? 6 beeps would suggest sensor 6 us part of the problem. Alternatively the siren could suggest it's a failure of the parking sensor unit

Yes it is front and rear so which would be sensor six

We have just put it all back together no siren now and no flashing light but the sensors still don't work it strange and frustrating

Each port had a sensor number believe which should narrow down the affected one. Plug each sensor in one at a time, then walk to each one and see if it beeps.

Still have the issue hes going to an indy to have diagnostic check hopefuls that will show which sensor or if its the module

Fingers crossed.
