hi I recently used a can of egr valve cleaner on my 08 2.2 diesel transit .like a plonka I used the hole can spraying it in the air intake with the engine running.i had just finished and clipped the lntake pipe back together.then it revved up full kick and I turned the ignition off but it kept high revving for about 15 seconds and now wont start but turns over ok have I killed the engine thanks guys

    egr cleaner acting as a fuel so running on that after switching engine off will be normal in this situation.

    Sounds like ecu shut its self down to prevent any more damage if over reved past preset limit, needs a code reader on it to see whats triggered.
