Yes he is correct about being careful not to snap them - applying a moderate amount of force to undo them without being brutal. If they do seem really well stuck it would be worth giving them a soak with something such as plusgas a few times beforehand. Otherwise, leave them to someone with a special type of impact gun to remove them - it basically vibrates them like mad to brake the corrosion but applies very little turning force so it doesn't snap them.
