Engine Noise

Advice please.

I have owned four successive Focus Estates all 1.8 tdci engines.

My last one on a 54 plate had done over 117,000 miles

I recently changed to an 09 plate Focus 1.8 tdci and have found the engine to be far noisier than any of my previous vehicles. Fuel consumption is very good, and performance is excellent.The vehicle has a genuine 40 thousand on the clock.

Are the newer vehicles all noisier, or have I a potential problem.

Any comments would be appreciated.
