barricades
Hi there, I have an old ford focus from 1999 which has just recently passed it's MOT however, the other day the petrol light came on and I was a good bit away from the petrol station, and couldn't go straight away. So after a stop off I started the car and it was a bit jumpy going down the street so I thought better get to a garage asap (not very far at all thankfully) Anyway, car's now got petrol but the jumpyness continues. I know this car's probably in a terrible condition regardless but I wonder what is causing the jumpiness? It's the same sort of feeling as when you try to accellerate in third gear when you're only doing 15mph. You kinda have to give it a little more accelerator to compensate
Tasape
Is the car regularly serviced You could have dirt in the fuel system/filter Pretty shure some of our more knowledgeable members will add a comment later

barricades
Hi guys, thanks for the replies. The car's not regularly serviced no, so I guess dirt in the fuel system is what it is then. Off I go to google it. Hopefully easy (or cheap) to fix!
Saulamandetra
Think you'll have to strip and clean the fuel injector systems to get rid of the slight misfire (jumping around) :( Saul

J87
still sound like a miss fire, when were the spark plugs changed. I presume the jumpiness is worse under load if so its more than likely a misfire. I would hope the fuel filter catchers the crap before it enters the engine
