Hi can a newbie get some advice please?

I have read a few threads here and hope the expertise can guide me regarding my focus. The auto gearbox has just failed at 60k miles and I have been offered a fix for £1500.I was about to sell the car which is otherwise in good nick, and am now uncertain about whats best.

Firstly is that a good repair price in anyones experience?

Any experts locally in the Epsom area that do the work?

Do I sell it unfixed and anyone interested?

The car is still worth 3K plus it seems in good order.

I know it's a tad vague but any help appreciated. .
