Fuel Gauge Problem

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I need a little help with an issue with my 2.0 2002 Mondeo Estate.

I put around quarter of a tank of fuel in yesterday on the way into work & got into the office with no issues. However, on the way home I managed to stall the car. When I restarted the engine, the miles to go display had suddenly lost the petrol I had put in that morning!

When I got home I turned off the engine & left it for a while to check that it wasn't just a sticky fuel arm indicator, but it was still missing the fuel. When I left this morning, the house this morning the fuel is still "missing".

Any ideas what could be causing this issue?

Sounds like the fuel sender unit is not picking it up. Put a but more fuel in then take it for a drive over a rough Road. That should shake it loose.
