Picked Up My S Max Today👍 Quick Question Though

Featured Replies

I picked up my 2012 s max titanium x sport in white. Really pleased with it. Looks ace especially for a mpv!

Now it has an after market exhaust, stainless steel type from a company called long life. Does this mean that the dpf has been removed??

It was fitted in 2012 and passed an mot on the 30/10/14 with no advisories.

I'm confused as to why someone would go to the trouble and change the exhaust on a new car!

Odd ?

Yes that's what I thought, the aftermarket exhaust looks much better though. I'm going to ring the place where they fitted te exhaust tomorrow and see what they say

I'd say there are a couple of reasons, the stainless will have a longer life, sound better (if that's what you're into), & also a lot cheaper than the exhaust that you can only get from the main dealer (as I found out was ÂŁ803)

Yes possibly, doesn't make much of sound than normal(thank god)

Def looks better. I'm just unsure whether the dpf had been removed

I'm not at all technical or mechanical minded, but from experience with my existing car, isn't the exhaust mainly for better flow (and sometimes for sound and looks) ? Someone may have kept the DPF on yours and just added a better exhaust.

Also I believe a friendly MOT tester may be able to pass a DPF less car!!!

Possibly yeah. It def looks better than the one that points down.

Nice. But please don't post pics of modifications. They lead to temptations! And I have said that what ever car I end up with I am NOT going to spend any money on modifications (other than the remap).

PS is that your garage?

Ha, they come pretty much with everything you'd need, low ish, big rims, just needs a decent tail pipe if you opt for the 2.0, the 2.2 has nice tail pipes but mpg is rubbish(so I've heard and read).

Not my garage, I wish it was!!!!

It's just the photo off the garage advert. It was raining today so couldn't get any of my own photos
