Hi wondering if anyone else has same issue as me. My 2008 transit has an intermittent fault on the dash lights sometimes when I turn the key the lights flash on and then go off, other times they don't even flash on. When either of these things happen the van won't start. It sounds like the immobiliser is on and stopping the engine from starting. I have changed the ignition switch which at first seemed to rectify the problem but now it has returned. Any help would be gratefully received.

Check the ign key is turning barrel sufficiently to turn ign switch, , if its playing up often, take the column covers off, and remove ign switch , with key in and in on position, use screwdriver to operate switch for a few days to seen if it plays up at all, at least this will confirm or rule out barrel.

I tried turning the ignition switch with a screwdriver but still same thing happens thanks tho
