Question Re Spoiler + Bodykit Mods For Fiesta Edge 2011

Featured Replies

So I want to "splash the cash" so to speak on my car.

I'm looking to fit this http://maxtondesign.co.uk/product/fiesta-mk7/roof-spoiler-ford-fiesta-mk7.html to my MK7 (Pre-facelift) 2011 Fiesta Edge (TDCI 1.4 model).

I have a few questions though:

Currently the car has a very small spoiler, which it came with as stock, this appears to be held in by four screws which are visible when opening the boot, towards the hinge part in the corners. Presumably I just unscrew them, remove the old one, paint and fit the new one and replace the screws/bolts?

Second thing, the current stock spoiler has the rear brake light bar fitted to it, now with a larger spoiler i'd need to extend this using a rear brake light extension cable, does anyone know of any good sites/sellers they've used in the past for this type of thing?

Thirdly, one of my mates suggested I can spray the spoiler myself, by going to Halfords and paying about £10 a can of spray paint (mixed to colour match the car), however presumably they'd need the colour code of my car to get as close as possible to matching colour..... where can I find said colour code?

The spoiler itself is about £80 quid, has anyone recently done a similar spraying job and can give me a good estimate as to how much it is likely to cost to get it sprayed? (in terms of material cost as my mate has agreed to help me do it - so exclude any labour estimates).

I was also considering putting these on the car in a few months:

I've been told that these "Glue" on.. which doesn't seem very secure to me, is there really no bolts or anything which hold these on?

Furthermore, the thing that concerns me with this is road clearance, has anyone got that kit or similar fitted and can advise as to road clearance?... I don't want to go over a speedbump and scrape the bottom of my extensions!

Sorry for all the waffle and thank you for the time spent reading my rubbish!
