Intake Problem?

Featured Replies

HI

A couple of days ago I decided to change out the PCV valve and hose on my wife's 2005 ford focus zx4, Everything seemed to go okay, Pulled the intake off and replaced PCV valve and hose, Decided when I was in there to do all the vacuum lines, I bought some throttle body cleaner and cleaned the TH, I replaced the intake gaskets with new ones, After reinstalling everything and starting the vehicle I noticed the throttle was sticking, When I hit the gas pedal the throttle sticks wide open until I turn off the key, I removed the intake again today thinking maybe I had broken loose one of the intake paddles or broke the actuator linkage" But both seem to be working right though they could use a good cleaning, Upon visual inspection of the manifold I can not see anything wrong with it, My hope is that somebody has had this problem and can tell me how to solve it.

Okay, So i reinstalled the intake manifold this morning, Installed a new TPS sensor and throttle body gasket, Installed new intake gaskets again, Had the negative cable unhooked all night, Started vehicle and didnt touch the throttle for at least 20 mins, Idle was good till I decided to take it down the street, As soon as I accelerated the idle went up to about 2000 rpm where it stayed, Decided to take it for a good long drive on the freeway and see if it would help the computer relearn, The car was like having a cruise control, It would just stay at whatever speed i was at when i took my foot off the gas pedal, Sometimes it would accelerate, Well I decided to just take it home and forget about it for a day or so, Well thats not me I need to figure this outSo long story short I decided to unplug the IAC and all of a sudden Hanging idle problem is gone, So I will reolace the IAC tonight and see what happens

Okay now I've solved the sticking idle problem with a new IAC valve, But now the car has what feels lime a low end miss, When I start the car it files like it has a miss, When I drive the car misses until it gets to about 15 mph then it clears up all of a sudden, I have no ideal about what this new problem could be
