Turbo Problem?? 2003 Tdci

Featured Replies

Update... Hi everyone, and thanks for reading my post.

Just bought a 2003 Galaxy TDI with 145,000 miles and I think I may have a problem. Now and then I hear a kind of dump valve sound from the car when changing gear when revs are going down, is that right? And today I can hear a kind of intermittent rattling/knocking noise to coincide. Are these connected? Sorry if this doesn't make sense to anyone but i`m no mechanic!! Turbo still works fine

Thanks in advance for any correspondence

Update. Just listened under the bonnet and the noise which happens when the revs are decreasing is coming from the air box, a kind of 4-5 downward whines?

check for any split pipes or hoses. thats probably the best place to start.
