Hi

I only had my Fiesta for 1 month.. but its a year old.

i have problems everytime i want to play Things via USB... sometimes it just says "no usb device connected" or if it finds it, it plays between 6 and 20 seconds of a song then displays "usb device disconnected" then maby it helps turning radio off then on.. (and it does the same Again)

ive triede 5 different usb-devices, different formats of the drive, and resetting the usb-module (by unpluging it below the glovebox)

any good sugestions?

(sorry English is not my native language, and new driver to ford)

Have you formatted the USB drive to FAT (NOT FAT32) and is your folder structure correct on the drive?

Should be.. I have tried.

Fat

Fat32

Ntfs

Ex-fat

music in the root

music in folders

Reset module (via radio), brother factory and Master reset. Removed fuse 13 and put back, also tried to disconnect module completly, and put back.

All no difference... Sometimes it plays (Well for 6-20 seconds)

Mine does the same, predominantly with iPhone but sometimes when I plug in my USB data stick with just music files on it.. Nothing seems to have worked so far..

Told ford about the issue and they 'couldn't replicate the fault' not sure what else to do!

Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC

I had this on my 2015 Titanium - after a couple of weeks of resetting swapping and switching on and off it suddenly cleared - now I have a usb stick with 500 songs that plays fine - so give it more time.

Try keeping the same stick in for a while

I wonder if it takes a while to read the stick, just saying as when i insert an MP3 cd and use voice control to change tracks the car tells me that the cd is empty yet if i let it play the first track for a short time it works ok.

It does have to catalog what is on the USB drive, but I just bought one of the really tiny 64gb drives and leave it plugged into the car except when I'm adding new music.

So it NOT just me ;-).....

(But if i plug in phone i can see its NOT charging, but if it works those few seconds, it does charge)

I charge my phone from the cigar lighter with a usb adapter and use blutooth to connect

I dont have Music on my phone, hense i wanted to use the USB-drive.

But the Sound via blu-tooth dont Sound good (my opinion)

I don't know if the USB has enough power to recharge a phome - lighter + usb adapter is better for that - and it keeps the usb clear for the memory stick

  • 2 weeks later...

Well i have now tried other cable ect.

But found out its disconnects the USB aften 30 seconds after the radio is turnes on... No matter if Anthing is pluged in or NOT.

Can i just replace the BT/USB module with another with the same part number? E.g. This from A fokus? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-B-Max-Bluetooth-Control-Module-D1BT-14D212-CC-/121617684895?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c50fa999f

I had the same prob as the OP, not sure how it started to work. It seemed like a dicky usb connector at first, plug it in plug it out, sometimes it worked sometimes not. Now it works I leave the stick in. Also, when I first start the engine, the down volume doesn't work for maybe 30 secs, then it's ok. Even now, mp3's play ok but the display says initialising usb. Also, finally got my phone to pair.

These toys eh?

EDIT: just to add, Shell v-power has made zero difference to mpg (still 37) although poke seems 'cleaner/brighter' somehow. Or maybe I'm imagining it.

Well i took the plunge and bought A replacement module.... Atleast then i know if its the radio or module... (Just hope the used module from A focus works without coding)

If you're talking about the bluetooth+usb module, it's best to have the donor car model match. Model can be updated (via IDS I think) if needed though.

If you're still having problems playing music from USB, try this USB stick: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cruzer-Fit-Flash-Drive-SDCZ33-032G-B35/dp/B00812F7O8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1431953776&sr=8-2&keywords=mini+usb+memory+stick+32gb

I had a problem with it disconnecting with a different stick, but that Sandisk one works flawlessly.

Hy!

The USB port does it support to recharge my phone?

It should recharge phones but I haven't tried it.

I actually dont Think it Will help... When all power is cut to the USB-port in my car efter 30 seconds... That leads to 2 possibilities.

1 faulty module

2 Wrong programing, like its programered NOT to have USB (one bit needs changing in the asbuilt file)

Another vote here for Sandisk bought this one from Argos after having problems with other sticks.

It comes already formatted to FAT32

This one works great with no problems at all yet I have about 7000 songs on it!

Only thing I find with my car is if you remove the stick and reinsert it then it starts indexing everything again.

Until that finishes the system won't allow voice controls for selection and the music plays out of order.
