Ford Galaxy Mk1

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have an a/c problem with my Galaxy, after turning the a/c on it will run ok for a bit then you can hear something like a relay chattering just behind the heater controls. The compressor will be stop/starting in relation to the chattering.

is there a temperature sensor in the cabin that could be faulty?

The a/c was overhauled a little over a year ago, new compressor etc.

if it sounds like a cat squealing(fan belt slipping noise) then it may be the ac clutch pulley coming away from the shaft.had this on mine.eventually mine fell off into the undertray.you can replace it insitu but iirc the undertray had to come off and a m8 was working from underneath and i was working from above.

Hi greg,

thanks for your input, no mine is a relay clicking sound coming from behind the manual heating/fan/ac controls centre dash. The clicking is switching the compressor on and off rapidly which is why I thought it might be a faulty temperature sensor (if there is one?) in the cabin.
