Just starting out with my recent purchase.

Attached is the 1.8 tdi lump which I'm looking to spruce up.

Anyone got any good ideas or tips on where to get bits for this 90's escort ?

I'd like to do a bit of engine painting also if anyone can help with which type of paint to buy.

    You wont find parts off the shelf for your engine but there are alternatives. First off would be a really good clean by hand using an engine degreaser and rags. Then coat all the plastics with something like Autoglym Bumper Care. You will be surprised how much better it will already look. You could have the rocker/cam cover chromed or paint it with a suitable high temperature paint from the likes of Halfords. You could spend a fortune but be realistic as you will be throwing good money away. A clean bay is a good place to start though.:)
