Engine Management Light

Featured Replies

Hi guys I have a very confusing problem.

I have a 2004 focus estate 1.8 TDCi. The car drives lovely buy when the car is on a run the engine management light comes on. The first time this happened I took it to a garage to do a diagnostic but it gave no fault code so the light was just switched off incase it was a blip. Took the car on another run and sure enough the light came back on. The car has never gone into limp mode or anything. I took it to a different garage and again it gave no fault code. They recommend getting an auto electrician to look at which I did. He checked everything including the ECU and found nothing wrong with the car. Has anyone had this problem before? I feel I'm throwing money at garages for them to tell me there's nothing wrong. I've put redex in the fuel tank just in case. I've had it fully serviced and still the same problem. Any ideas will be appreciated.
