Euro 4 Tax Rated Or Not.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have a transit connect t230 on a 10 reg and am wondering what rate of road tax should I pay.

My log book says" private light goods" in the taxation class , but it clearly says type " euro 4" .

Euro4 rates were for 2003-2006, so I read it as its the normal higher rate of £225 unfortunatly, light goods vehicle tax seems a bit hit and miss with euro4/5, with only certain years applicable. I can see your query.it doent make any sence.

When you search for tax rate on DVLA website it says vehicles registered between March 2009 and November 2010 are Euro 4.

V5 also states type euro 4, yet tax is charged at full rate of £225 as oppose to £140 for Euro 4 listing.

Will write to DVLA and contest this as I am sure emissions are lower than vehicles listed at £225.

Just re read the dvla website , and from what im reading its euro 4, from mwrch 2003 to dec 2006, and euro5 jan2009 to dec 2010, all other combos is standard rate after 2001. Thats how I read it which makes no sense at all to be honest.

where on dvla are you getting your dates from? Cant see them.

Sorry got a bit confused with dates, but as you say jan 2009 to dec 2010 is euro 5 according to dvla site, my v5 states euro 4 and vehicle was first registered in may 2010.

Euro 4 and Euro 5 are same price to tax £140 for 12 months.

Yes, doesnt make any sense, so if you had an older dec 06 van 140, but 07 back to 225 regardless of euro 4, the euro 5 again up to 2010 140, what about 2010 to present Euro4 or 5? Lol

Just checked a 2013 connect and that's 225 tax.euro 5
