Hi, From Lancashire

Featured Replies

I did post one topic earlier but never introduced myself.

I live in Lancashire with my wife and the only ford I've owned previously was your good old 2002 red Ford KA with the black plastic wheel areches and bumpers and although it tried to kill me I did love that little car. Currently me and my partner own one car the Alfa Romeo Giulietta but we are soon to be working much further apart that we need a second car to add to the family.

We are looking at the Ford Fiesta ecooboost 125 and went for our first test drive last weekend (Tried Evans Halshaw in Bury but the sales man didn't seem that keen to sell us a car saying things like it's not worth test driving a car unless you intend to buy it, I don't know how you can decide on and buy a car without first test driving a version to see if it is right for you) anyway we found a much nicer dealership that would let us test any version we wanted first.

Funny story though, we told the sales rep which version we wanted to try out as we wanted a small car with decent power and he said it might be worth trying the 100bhp ecoboost first as he said the power difference isn't much different and that might be enough (I think they just had more 100bhp versions to sell), anyway I suggested the oposite and that we try an ST-2 first to see if we liked that.

Great fun in a little car and I gave it some beans on my drive, however my drive was nothing compared to my wifes drive and the way she took that car all the way around one clear roundabout made the sales person (who was gripping on for life) say "I think we'll skip the 100bhp that clearly wont be enough power" :D

Anyway we are hopefully going back this weekend to buy a 125bhp, appart from driving both what indicates the car is definetly a 125bhp and not a 100bhp version just so we are not sold the wrong one?

I also already have a Spider tuning box ready and waiting to connect to and tune the engine up for what Spider claim will be an increase from 125bhp to 155bhp and 200nm to 234nm of torque. I have one of these boxes on my Giulietta and they really make the car much smoother and more powerful.

So looking forward to being part of the forum and I'll post some updates/review on what the car is like with the tuning box as soon as I can :D

Hi welcome :)
