Gap Insurance

Featured Replies

Hello to everyone

I'm picking up my new zetec s tomorrow and I need some advice regarding gap insurance can anyone help me out please thanks

If the policy is "right", Gap insurance will cover the lost ammount due to depreciation, of the car over a certain time covered in the Gap policy.

i.e paid £10,000 for car, 1 year later car is written off, insurance pays £7000, Gap pays £3000 you get back £10,000

Is it worth it, hhmmmmmmm well yes of course if you lose your car., but if you don't lose your car in the time period, you lose what you paid for GAP insurance.

I pick up my New car this Thursday, first time ever i will take GAP insurance £395 for three years, car is brand new and cost a lot so i'm taking a punt on the GAP for peace of mind.

Did you get your gap insurance from the dealer?

It will be from my Dealer yes, i have not bothered to look around TBH, i know there is cheaper around but to much to do before Thursday and not enough time to look around reading up.

Mine is a brand new as well. I might try to haggle the price 😊

Worth a try :)

Dealer GAP is well overpriced, all you are doing is giving the salesman more commission.

There are lots of GAP insurers, try ALA, 3 years on my ST was £170.

You don't have to buy straight away, you have upto 180 days (might be 105 depending on the type of cover)

Thanks for the head up

Hi,

Just to let you know that we offer a product called Total Loss Protection. Whilst it's not exactly the same as your traditional GAP insurance we feel it can offer a cost effective alternative. If you'd like any further information then please feel free to drop me a line.

Regards,

Dan.
