Service Records

Featured Replies

Do Ford still issue service books or are servicing records now computer-based? I have just bought a 2013 B-Max from a local Ford main dealer and when I asked if it had a service book the salesman seemed a touch evasive and said I didn't need one.

I know some manufacturers have done away with paper records but does this apply to Ford? I have a suspicion that the book is missing and the dealer doesn't want to cough up £200+ for a replacement.

You can get a service pack (includes service book, radio manual and car manual, with wallet) for £38. Don't know where you were quoted £200 from?

B max is digital service history.

B max is digital service history.

Ian, that's what I was hoping but I'll still try and get confirmation from the dealer just for my peace of mind.

Russ, thanks for your help. However, I really want a certified, duplicate book showing the previous service history and these cost around the price I mentioned before.

ok, for some reason its only the b max that im aware that uses dsr, its the same system as mazda.

Might be others by now but they still have service books from new in the car

You should be able to request the digital service records from the Ford service center. I had a similar issue with my last one as there was no records in the actual service book itself but I did get it all printed, free of charge.
I'm almost 100% certain that the records of the one I have now are also stored on the Ford service database and can be requested free of charge too.
Can anyone else clarify this ?

Thanks to everyone who has responded. I'm still getting the runaround from the dealer so I'll have a go with Ford HQ to see if I can get a final answer.

Each group of dealers keeps their own digital records, but there is no single centre so you do still get a book and stamp.
