What firmware mode was highlighted and what performance mode was it in when you plugged it in and started up? I've not got one of the new imode performance boxes yet (but should have one next week) but I believe spider now tell you what firmware mode to set it to for your specific car (which is a new thing) and you should be running it in eco mode for the initialisation period. Because if it is set too high on first start up people on the Alfa Forum used to get the same thing with EWL and the engine quickly cutting out but everything was then fine when they turned the car off and putting the electrics on and set the box to a low setting before fully starting the engine up. After the initialisation period (3 mins idle & 30 mile run in not exceeding 4000rpm) I've not heard anyone have any problem yet with their box.

    It was set on program 2 and flashing 3. Confirmed this with spider it was on the right setting. Set on eco on start up.

    The bluetooth didn't work which he suggested polarity issues. Maybe the harness was wired up wrong. Im not too sure. We're going to double check over the phone. Failing that, send the box back and they'll run an error log on it to see what went wrong.

    Thought i'd finally update here.

    After the 3rd attempt the spider box is installed and works amazingly well.

    The second attempt, i was having trouble getting the car started after it conked out on the drive on tick over. Engine Malfunction Service Now. Removed the box, and returned the car back to normal, and it has performed well ever since.

    Spoke to the guy at diesel tuning and he couldn't help enough, the box went back to be checked for errors, none were found!

    He send it back to me for another go, which had all been re-checked their end.

    So finally, today it has been installed with it all working as it should, they have even supplied me with a blank, in the event of the box throwing up the malfunction light again which will short out the wiring harness and bypass the box (returning the car back to normal)
