Puncture Repair Now Triggering Esp/traction Control

Featured Replies

I had a small puncture on a brand new tyre a month or so back. Luckily it was repairable as the tyre was only a few months old. It was the front left tyre that was repaired.

Since then if I go into a right hand bend that has a little camber to get the nose to dip in then the ESP (I think) pulses the brakes and makes give a real halting sensation. The orange light comes on as it happens and blinks quickly afterwards.

Never had it happen at all and it's certainty not in quick driving conditions, you have to be going fairly gently. Could the puncture repair be upsetting the balance and subsequently the ABS sensor and causing this?

I'll probably rotate the tyre off to the back just to see but it'd be good to know if any of you have experienced this before.

It is the ESP mate,

Its very sensitive by aim to reduce even th3 slightest indication of wheel spin,

Im sure the wheel was checked for buckles and balanced prior to refitting to the car,

As such it wouldnt rotate any faster or slower than the opposite size being balanced,

On a straight road;

Lift your hands off the wheel and see if the car begins to go towards the side which had the puncture,

If it does then yes its effecting esp and its a tracking issue
