The swear filter is in place to stop intentional language and accidental slips.

As this forum is accessible to all internet users without the need to register or sign in it was considered prudent to introduce suitable protection against non-workplace/school suitable posts.

It has been thoroughly tested by management & moderation staff and is amended/added to as/when needed.

I personally don't think either words should be blocked as they're simply a sexuality. But when people use them in a childish offensive manor, that's when in my opinion they become unacceptable. So it's a difficult one to call.. as there's always one idiot who spoils it for the rest
