Hi I'm after a bit of help I'm looking to buy a mk four escort on a d plate really low mileage no owners and excellent condition I need to check mileage is genuine but lady doesn't have any old mots for it does anyone know how I can do this and also what people would pay thanks

Yeah I think the online mot is for the last 7 years or so. Check the pedals, if they are original pedals and look reasonable for the claimed mileage then it's probably as close to genuine as you can get assurances for.

the alternator starter motor have got the original paper stickers on and inside interior is Immaculate so I'm thinking mileage is genuine thanks

It's on a d plate 16 thou on clock pedals are mint everything is tbh it's not been on road since 04 but starts no probs it's a three door non sun roof

I'm going to mot it every 12mth months and leave it in the garage I think or would you not bother to mot it's being under sealed this week then it shall be put under wraps

I would only mot it if your going to be driving it.

If your looking to make it a future classic, I think a lot depends on which model the MK4 is too. That will obviously have a big part in the future price. Again obviously the better the spec/model the more it might be sought after in the future.

Future classics can be a bit of a hit and miss in my opinion.
