Timing Belt Or Chain???

Featured Replies

Hello!

I am new to the owners club and wondering if anyone out there can help me.

I am looking to buy a Focus Estate 1.6 TDCi CVT 2006 Model

I have searched everywhere and I can't find a direct answer, does this car have a timing belt or chain???

Also I have read many forums about the C-Max automatics having gearbox problems and they all say the same thing, that when turning or going roundabouts there is no power pushing the car.

I wondered if the same problem exists with the Focus auto?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

1.6 tdci is belt driven.

Can't say about the other thing, I'm sure someone will be able to chip in though.

I had the CMAX 1.6 Auto diesel, it did go OK, but it was lacking in power around bends, moreso I think a turbo lag combined with the torque converter. The Focus is a slightly lighter car, so you do get the benefit its less likely to be affected, but then again the CVT is not made for power...
