Occasional Miss Fire Problem

Featured Replies

my 2001 1.4 focus every now and then will miss fire, starts no problem and tick over on auto choke and once warmed up is fine, pulling away is ok most of the time. every now and then especially if i put my foot down while driving it will miss once or twice then be fine, never does it if at a constant speed just every now and then when i pull off or try to go up a hill/ over take.

any one point me in the right direction of a poss problem as it had a full service just before i got it in may and according to the paper work had new coil pack fitted as well?

would it be wise to chance out the plugs and leads to see if that solves the problem or will this be something harder/ more expensive to fix?

there is no warning lights on at all so i am hopeing it is not a serious problem.

Check your plug leads are all ok, I had a similar misfire on my 'old' fiesta and eventually checked the resistance of the leads to find one was a 'duffer', one set of new leads later & it was running perfectly.
