2002 Focus 1.6 Petrol - Problems With Misfiring And Engine Management Light

I'm having problems with my 2002 Focus, three weeks ago, it started misfiring and the engine management light came on, I took to a garage and they thought it was the ecu. When I got the car back, it was running ok but today it started misfiring again and cutting out on me at junctions and the engine management light is stuck on.

I have now had a auto electrician to look at it, and he's told me it's either the idle valve control or the engine temperature sensor which is stuck on and reading at 109 degrees.

We have now changed the idle valve control and it's stuck at 4,000 revs.

Can anyone help me with this, as it is frustrating.
