Sync 2 Usb Folder/file Structure

Featured Replies

I've bought a 64Gb micro-usb drive to store music on for my new car which has Sync 2. I've currently got folders for each artist and sub-folders for each album. Will this work with Sync 2 or do all the MP3's need to be stored in either the top level or 1st level folders?

Thanks in advance

Sync doesn't give a stuff what folder structure you use. It reads the mp3 tags and will categorise them from that.

Awesome. Thanks mate! I've got a bit of OCD when it comes to organising my music, so if I'd had to stick 'em all in one folder, I'd have been going loopy.

Happy days.

I stick albums in sub folders but I number artists (if not compilation albums), track names and sub-folders or else everything plays out of order.

Also if you want everything how you want it don't use Gracenote for preferences or album art.

If you do it all goes out of order and shows genre art rather than covers.

If you update any music on the drive always get the system to rescan the drive or it will scramble playback order and muck up the voice commands.
