S Max Curtain Airbag Fault

Featured Replies

Hi, I am having probs with my airbag light, mot due in a week & have had the problem narrowed down to the passenger curtain airbag, I have seen resistors to fool the airbag ecu but I need to know the ohm's resistance & if the bag is a single or dual deployment?

As per usual here I figured it out myself, its 2.2 ohms & the curtain airbag plug is located above the rear side windows, there is a plastic 30cm aprox panel that you just prise off then 3 screws under it to drop another panel, this reviles the plug that is connected to the air bag, you will need a 2 amp mini fuse soldered to a 2.2 ohm resistor then heat shrink the whole thing leaving the ends exposed, plug the exposed ends into the airbag plug & the light should stay out, I would only recommend this as a test method or to get you through an mot if you have no time.
