How to re attach this mirror?

Found the mirror had fallen off while the car was parked! Tried with some force pushing it back in but no joy!

Any help much appreciated

looks like its fallen off before and the backing plate on the glass has a lot of scratch marks. it does look a tricky job to put it back on and i would suggest trying to take the back plate off and attaching it onto the mirror part and then using double sided sticky foam to attach back to the glass.

The retaining tabs of the mirror mount are broken. These retaining tabs hold the mirror in place.

The mirror mount on the windscreen needs to be replaced. The mirror mount of the autodimming mirror has (Finis) part number 4788331. The mirror mount is glued to the windscreen with a special polyurethane adhesive. This is basically the same adhesive which is used to install windscreens.

Hi,

I just bought fiesta and the mirror has fallen off while I was trying to put the cover properly (someone before me didn't have enough patience). So, what the op showed in the photos is not broken. It's just we men look for wrong solutions. I was sure it need to kind of click to get into that bracket, but it doesn't. After half and hour of useless attempts to fix it, I called my wife. She managed to do it i 5 seconds. Put the mirror up but don't try to fix it into the bracket straight as it should. Place it wrongly, then screw right until it comes into the correct position. Damn and I thought after reading this post that I'll need a new mirror. I just needed woman's brain to fix that.🤷

Please call back in another 10 years and let us all know if the mirror is still OK 🤣
