I have a Sony DAB radio in my 2011 Focus TitX and have noticed that when it is on and the front passenger door is opened the radio switches off. It also does this if the drivers door is opened but I would expect that as you don't want to leave the car with the radio running. [Apparently unlike the old days, they now consume quite a bit of power.] To be clear, I am in the car and the engine and ignition is off when this happenes.

Is there a setting to disable the radio being turned off when the front passenger door is opened.

Not that I know of, the car considers an open door as you getting out the car.

It goes into accessory mode.

Keep the engine running.

May be a bit tricky to do, but try pressing the on/off button when it switches off. Works for me.lol

Our new trucks at work whether the engine is on on or off turns the radio off, it's !Removed! annoying, also does it when reverse is selected too lol In fact the older 10 plates also do it as well.

Drives me mad especially when a good song is on the radio.

My ST reduces the radio volume when in reverse and the tones kick in.

Thanks all for the replies. I know that I can turn the radio on again, and that the sound mutes when the parking aid kick in, which is very good [my 2011 fiesta Tit did not do that, most annoying] but it's just a bit irritating that's all.
