Can Anyone Tell Me A Couple Of Things About Sync?

Featured Replies

Picked up my near new Focus Titanium yesterday and loving it, but got a couple of issues.

I'm having trouble playing music from my iPhone 5s via bluetooth. If I select an album on the phone it will play, and tell me the song etc, but I can't see any other albums on the touchscreen. It seems to work ok when plugged in to the usb port, but even then album covers are missing. I'm not entirely sure how it's supposed to work so don't know if it's set up wrong or just how it is. :/

Also, with the sat nav, does it have live traffic updates? Are the map upgrades free, or is there a fee, anually or not? And how do I go about updating it? Presumably the maps are on the SD card that's plugged in under the arm rest?

And lastly, should my steering wheel lock when the engine is off. Mine doesn't seem to want to.

Thanks very much folks

Can't answer for the music as I don't tend to use it that way,I have all my tracks on a usb socket in the arm rest.

Sat Nav updates have to be done via a ford dealer, not sure on price as don't tend to keep car long enough to worry. Yes the maps are uploaded on the SD card.

Assuming you have keyless entry and start I'm pretty sure the steering wheel locks when the car is dead locked.

Hope this helps mate and enjoy your car :)

The steering has an electronic lock.

It will lock with deadlocking and you may well notice that if you unlock and sut inside you'll hear a click and sometimes see the wheel vibrate as the lock comes off.

You can buy updated SD cards with new maps from eBay for a lot less than Ford charge for them, at least this is the case for the Fiesta. I haven't done this myself though so can't guarantee that it would work, but it's something that I might look at considering that my 1 year old car has maps that are 2 years old.

And yes the Ford Satnavs have live traffic and will redirect you around problems, but how effective this is I don't know. The last time it redirected me I went the wrong way and got stuck in Leeds rush hour traffic.
