Mk7.5 125 Ecoboost, Which Remap?

Featured Replies

hello,

me on a 125 I would stay on the Bluefin only with induction kit and filter ! I fear that too much power and torque are harming the clutch !

Depends how heavy a foot you got :p ahahah

I've messaged this before somewhere but al write it again

I know someone who does remaps etc

He says the montune mr165 (163bhp)

The map itself is actually only 154-156bhp then with all the hoses induction kit & intercooler (which is crap btw) takes it to 163

He said if you had all that with a better intercooler on a car then added bluefin you would be looking at around the same figure as the mr165

Aslong as you get all the stuff before you remap the car with bluefin

Surely by having an induction kit and different exhaust system the bluefin wouldn't be as good as it's only designed for standard?

a was sure it doesnt but to make sure i mailed them on facebook aslong as its a catback its fine but all is good for the car

"Hi James

As long as they're compatible with a stock vehicle they'll be fine with the map. The only issue he might run into is with the exhaust if he's replacing the catalytic converter. Get him to call us directly is probably easiest on 01280 816781, and select the Technical option 2"

a guy on facebook with all the pipes etc intercooler cai and exhaust etc all fine on the bluefin running 164bhp on a dyno

I tried to contact with Superchips about the Stage 2 map, however I got an auto reply that they will sent me back in time. I'll let you know...

So, if already fitted the Superchips map, is it ok to fit an induction kit (or just an air filter) / hoses compatible with the stock?

The only issue that might occure is by fitting exhaust and replacing the catalytic converter?

Sorry for asking the same again, I am just trying to figure it out, as I still got no reply from Superchips.

Don't get mountunes intercooler it's crap get airtec stage 2 works so much better Collins sell it expensive tho but very affective!

That's my favouritest bit ;)

That's my favouritest bit ;)

Been tested mate it's the least effective of all the intercoolers that are available for the 1.0 ....

Apparently the red/black editions one is better (apparently)

What made me laugh is you said the MR165 intercooler was naff but an uprated cooler gives the same profomance. Wouldn't it be better :p

It looks nice so that's all that maters IMHO ha ha ha.

Check out airtec stage 2 Collins have it it's brilliant 400 tho but most affective

No mention of any profomance gains :p

Seriously though mate I know nothing about intercoolers and only fitted it cos it was part of the kit and dead easy to install. If a bigger one gave more hp / torque I'd have gone for one. If your looking at doing bits at a time then I'd definitely recommend airtec's products. The whole removing the bumper thing puts me off. Been there and don't fancy it again ;)

Thanks great, thanks! It will just be a cat back so no issues :)

Awk Not to bad for the front bumper to get off and its not on there website yet mate that's not the one Ur looking at its still in prototype mode

I asked Collins about gains back in summer. With an improved intercooler, the Collins map will give a gain of about 20bhp. Without intercooler, not very much.

but in summer they didnt have this new one only unveiled it at ford fair ................ the system they use and most people use is the airtec only passes one way as a backwards c and has fins in the middle as you will probs google ..........

i spoke to them at ford fair about the new product and this passes several times moving right to left and right again like the back of a fridge which makes it highly affective also said its easily built for hybrid turbos

message them about it a will take a pic of the price sheet when home tmorrow but

i saw this intercooler it makes the airtec one out at the moment look tiny haha

it goes over top and bottom grill

Lol fit larger intercooler gain 20hp..

OK yes you can a more aggressive map to gain hp as larger intercooler reduces charge temps, but the intercooler doesn't add itself, k just allows you to use more hp for longer..

The Airtech unit for the St is good at cooling but does introduce lag and reduce the torque at low revs.. Check there own data.

Just something to think about, depends on what you want. I got the smaller Mountune unit for my St as I wanted my torque as I drive mainly in town and lanes, and not race tracks.

No-one is suggesting that an intercooler will give you 20bhp, but you may not be able to get those gains without it..

If Colins say intercooler and chip, means there both needed. Colins are very good at what they do..

But ask them about the torque characteristics of the package. Not one or the other.

In real life quicker turbo spool, more torque at lower revs can be more useful. Always a trade some where.

For the record even the Mountune unit does add a touch of turbo lag on the St, but is easy to drive around, as it's only noticeable in traffic. If I was planning lots of track days I'd got the Airtech unit..

Personally I found Mountunes upgrades to be a nice trade off from drivability and out right power on the rollers.

You got a link mate?

You got a link mate?

It's when I was talking to them at Ford fair mate

Who was them?

Backed up back to back dynos.

Be interested to see the graphes and compare.

Collins Performance (said this in previous post) the intercooler is still prototype as far as I know

Sorry more interested in the bit about the one on the black and red being better then Mountunes.

Am I right in saying the red and black are the 140 fiesta?

Yeah Ian bud

Dont want to wee on anyones bonfire but the red/ black is the same intercooler as 100, 125 versions
