Buying A Ford 2007 Titanium 1.6 Petrol 115

Featured Replies

Hi all

New to this forum. I currently own a 2003 ford focus 1.6 zetec, great car but looking to up the years a bit.

I have seen a 2007 ford focus titanium 1.6 (115) petrol, ti believe that's a mk2 and it's got low miles (58k), for £3999. however I'm wondering is it better to spend a bit more and go for a newer titanium version say 2009. I do like the titanium spec.

My question is there much difference in quality and drive of the 2007 to the 2009 due to the facelift and change in mk?

Thanks!!

Go for the facelift. It is a far superior car, with a lot of the issues of the mk2 ironed out. I looked at mk2s and each had issues, and £4k is strong money for a mk2.

4k for a MK 2? That's very strong money!

Thanks for replies, well I rang and they said they would sell for £3,700. It's the higher bhp for the 1.6 petrol engine and I was wondering is that a better engine for the newer 1.6 99 bhp one. It's also the titanium with good low miles. But maybe it's still too much money. If the mk 2.5 is a newer improved model then maybe that's the one to consider instead

I personally wouldn't pay that for a MK 2 now days, I feel they are looking a little dated. Get yourself into a 2.5

If it was the right Mk2, ticked all the boxes, and is truly mint then £3700 wouldn't be bad. But I would want FFSH, one owner, not even so much as a tiny parking dent and less than 30k on the clock. A true garage queen. There are literally thousands in the used market, and it is the buyers' choice.

I bought my mk2.5 Zetec a year ago, complete service history, mileage a bit high at 125k but everything had been looked after, for £3995.
