Why Was My Leak Off Pipe Leaking ? I've Had To Strap Cable Ties Around The Fuel Injectors

Featured Replies

my car has had problems in the past with fuel injectors leaking, I think fuel injector 1 has leaked and fuel injector 3 has too, I think injector 1 was more common for leaking. At first he glued injector 1 back in with super glue, then weeks later Injector 3 was leaking,

Eventually he just glued all the injectors in but 1 & 3 continued to occasionally leak.

We decided to try changing the top seal on one of the injectors, it was either injector 1 or injector 3. That seemed to sort that injector and it has not leaked again, he only changed the seal on one injector.

Several weeks later I smell fuel and look under the bonnet to find leaking fuel again, this time it was not the injectors but the leak off pipe to them, so we put a cable tie around each of the 4 injectors and about 2 months later I have had no fuel leaks from either the injectors themselves or the leak off pipe.

Thing is, although it seems to be doing the job I do not like the feeling of my car being held together by cable ties and worry about how it will affect tbe resale of my car, also the cable ties will surely break at some point anyway ?

So I am thinking about replacing the leak off pipe that goes to the injectors. I mentioned it to my mechanic friend who said if I do that then they would only leak again, I asked him why but forgotten what he said the reason was, then a few weeks later I asked him again should I to!ace it and I'm sure he said we could do

So he's confused me slightly giving me two different answers

So do you think if I change the leak off pipe that my car will be fine and will not leak ? I don't want to replace it only for it too leak again.

Also why do you think I had fuel leak from injectors and leak off pipe ??

Thanks
