Update To Crankcase Breather/pcv Valve Problems

Featured Replies

Further to my recent post and the really helpful replies/advice I got,, I have now become a little confused/worried about this issue.

So, I will reiterate the problem.

Firstly, the breather pipes are blowing a hell of a lot of oil into the air filter box. The car runs rough as when first started, dies on idle and is an absolute sod to keep running when cold. Have to keep revving it up to maintain a steady idle, and when I pull away there is dreadful flat spot and it wants to stall out, so have to rev even harder.( I put this down to the amount of oil/fumes coming through the air filter into the injection system.).

I have checked the breather pipes as advised, there are no splits and they don't appear to be collapsing, and when I disconnected the one going to the manifold from the pcv valve, it too was blowing a lot of oil/fumes/smoke through, leading me to think the pcv valve is not blocked.

When warm, the car runs and drives smoothly, with no issues other than a slight lack of power at times, and of course, smells of hot oil/fumes etc.

There is no loss of oil or water, and neither are contaminated with the other.

I have booked the car in to a local garage for Monday morning, but wondered if any one here has any ideas?

Regards

Pete
