Engines??

Featured Replies

I'll wager a pretty penny that there'll be a few that snap before the 150k, as at average mileage the car will be 12 + years old & there'll be plenty of cars that'll never see 150k

if ive still got my focus by 120k(40k already) i will be doing the cam belt around that mileage.

at least i wont be paying the labour costs.

I think there a great engine and would have one next and 99% it would be the 125ps one.

I can only speak on my Ti-vct 1.6 which is A1 for me and m.p.g and had it a year,i can go nice in 5th slow and still nippy.

Not only going on the turbo as people say does get red hot and would be dear to replace other things as well.

If im not wrong is this the new cam belt that's in oil to last longer and im sure i have read its been done on other cars.

I have had cam belt go on my old c.v.h and engine was just pieces of metal inside.

Is mine 100k or 10 years??

Like them 2 videos,so same vct like my 1.6 with this cam shaft how it works and changed itself.

The end of the day its all to save fuel but still have the power as we all want, still a bit hit and miss with the

cambelt in the oil,if any very small pieces of dirt is in the sump it would go on the belt,ok its got a filter

but this will wear as all things do so its even more to get the oil done every 6 months.

Good find Willy :)

If there is ever parts of metal in the sump big enough to damage that belt I doubt the engine would be running.

Ok worded wrong. Edit job.

Like when the oil gets thicker after time and dirty as it does and bits what it gets.

I never leave the oil for 12 months as it feels like rough and that cant help things.

Do these need the water pump done at the same time.

water pump not driven of timing belt, so no need to replace water pump
