I'm pondering the purchase of a set of genuine Ford mudflaps off ebay, would i be correct in thinking that the existing screw points that hold the wheel arch liners will accommodate the mudflaps? or do new holes need tapping to fit them?

existing screw points are fine got them on mine

+1 the genuine flaps use the arch liner screws and holes except for the fronts whereby they use a supplied screw for the bottom fixing point which is a bit longer than the original already there. The hardest part is figuring out the middle fastener but it's easy once you get in place

Alternatively if your reading this and your model is an ST, ZetecS or RS with a body kit fitted then Ford dont manufacture mud flaps to fit body kitted models,

As Lenny said they do look awesome it's one of those really useful mods that most people don't do and makes your car stand out!! When I fitted mine I removed the arch liners and sprayed all the arches with 3 Coatings of underseal with waxoyl then put the liners back. Just a suggestion if your worried about rusting at the arches at all its easier to do that 1st rather than later

best advice I can give is;

Get a short stubby screwdriver handle that accepts Torx bits,

Can purchase one cheap in pound shops,

Use a Torx bits to remove and refit screws for mud flaps it's much easier than using Allen key.

For ease of access remove rear wheel,

Front wheel simply turn steering to relieve access

Anyone know what size screw I need for the bottom as I pulled a set of front mudflaps from scrappies today but torx screws were missing so only got mudflaps and clips.

Would the existing screw holding the liner to the wing at the bottom still fit, if need be? thanks

Is Ok, I've worked out that it's identical to the undertray screws.  Getting that washer off is a complete nightmare though otherwise it won't fit into flap (washer to wide for channel).

Lost some skin through slipping vice grips, etc
