Major Satnav Problems

Featured Replies

The built in satnav on my '58 Reg Mondeo estate now works only intermittently. Each time it is turned on I have to re-enter the country, all previous destinations and the home address have been lost and the radio and hands-free phone occasionally black out for a couple of seconds. A new aerial was fitted earlier this year and it had been working fine since then.

I have considered just buying a new Tom Tom or similar to aid navigation, but that doesn't address the hands-free problem.

Any suggestions?

Almost sounds battery related, but I assume the car is starting ok...

Unless the starting of the car is pulling the voltage down low enough to wipe the memory out on the radio/satnav...

I appreciate your reply but I don't believe there is a problem with the battery. The Satnav usually dies during a long journey, so the battery would be fully charged.

Any other suggestions, or where i might buy a replacement not costing an arm and a leg?

I can't think of anything else it could be other than the headunit itself then. :(
