Ford Sierra H Reg 2Lt Gls How Much Is It Worth

Featured Replies

I am putting my 1991 Ford Sierra up for sale . Its been in use daily until I had my new Focus a few weeks back . Its the GLS spec and MOT ed for 12 months .About one inch of body work wants doing . Also new clutch 3 months ago .How much should I get for it . Plenty of offers when I didn't what to sell it so don't want to loose out money wise.

Pretty tidy looking Sierra there, not that many of them around these days either.

I am sure it will be worth decent money looking in the condition it does in the pictures.

That's a good looking motor for a 24 year old. Your bound to get decent money for that.

Loads of Sierras and other great classics were culled in Gordon Brown's scrappage scheme :( , in exchange apparently for Hyundai i30's of all things!

Sadly, the car may not be worth as much as you hope to get for it.

For a 24 year old car, with the bodywork it has (though it needs some TLC) You may still struggle to get 1500 for it. I dont mean to doom monger, but whilst older cars are desirable, the money just isnt in them as it used to be.

I hope you get every penny for it though, to the right buyer and a true enthusiast you may well get up to 3k for it, but selling to the average Joe, I suspect you will struggle to make £800

Thanks all for your replies. I have been offered £1000 so think I will take it up . Had the car 15 years and it still turns a few heads when it's spruced up and it's still got a good turn of speed .

I think that's a sensible answer to be honest :-)

At £1000 you have probably not lost anything on the depreciation over the past 10 years. I sold a 10 year old car 10 years ago for that amount and if it is stil running reasonable I would expect to have to pay the same to get it back.

Friend of mine has just sold his 2.0 GLSi for £2000 & his XR4x4 for £5000!

I'd say 1000 is reasonable for good condition

Well the offer of £1000 fell through after I refused to take £800. But I haven't actually offered it for sale yet . It was just a few people asked after they saw me in the new Focus.

have you looked on ebay and seen how much they are going for,not the price there listed at?

watch a few to gain info then if you want to put it up with a reserve that your happy to let it go at.
