Good Advice Needed

Featured Replies

Picking up my S Max in a week or so and was wondering if owners can advise where the most likely rust spots may occur so I can take precautions plus any other experience based learnings that might help a poor newbie

Thanks in anticipation

I wouldn't worry, I have an 06 s max with no rust at all & I don't recall seeing rust on any other one.

That's encouraging!

I ask because when I bought my 350Z back in 2004 I wasn't aware then that the rear wheel arches are prone to rust due to the construction technique of spot welding the inner and outer wheel arches leaving the odd gap here and there. Had I known I could have taken some precautionary measure to save the £800 I've just paid to have it cut out.

I'm just after any learnings anyone might have after owning the car for some years.

Thanks for your input.

rear exhaust hanger tends to rust through, resulting in needing at least a new rear box.
