2009 Galaxy Power Steering Fault

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a '59 galaxy 2.0 Tdci which has a power steering failure on the dash and steering is very heavy.

I have been told it is probably pump/ecu assembly at drivers side which you have to buy as a complete assembly and is £650+vat from ford..

Has anyone had to replace one of these and is it something I could do myself or would it need to be a main dealer..?

Also, if I did the job myself does the new pump (or a second hand one), need to be electronically coded to vehicle or is it just a case of fitting it and plugging it in.?

Have tried 2 different diagnostic readers on it and can't access the steering ecu so that's what is making me think it's the unit that is faulty, only fault code I have on the car is from the body ecu and is,

B112B- Steering Wheel Module - Mechanical error-Intermittent

If anyone has any idea if this is what I need to replace and how easy/hard it is to do would be much appreciated, thanks.
