Chrome Strip Removal?

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have a 2013 Fiesta Zetec and I'm trying.to.remove the chrome trim from the boot lid above the number plate. I'm really struggling with it, if anyone has done it before or knows how to do it can you help me please? Pictures would be great. Thanks!

You need to remove the plastic panel inside the boot, from there its just a case of some bolts and it will come out.

Take of the inner panel to get to the bolts. Loosen of the bolts holding the wiper motor and then remove 4 bolts (I think) holding the panel on. Once removed the chrome part unclipped (I think)

Thanks for the replies guys, got it off and had a go at wrapping, I'd call it a success!

6 bolts ;)

I changed the whole piece, as I managed to find a colour-coded version on eBay (after searching for 6 months). Paid £30 for it.

Instead of going colour coded I had some spare carbon fibre wrap lying around so tried that, I think it looks alright to be honest :-)

i know this is an old topic now, but am i right in thinking that it was only the post 2013 (2014-) mk7.5 that got rid off the boot chrome trim in favour of painted trim on the boot lid?

They're all painted apart from the ones fitted to black or silver cars (with exception to the ST & maybe a couple others, which are painted regardless of body colour).

I take it back! I've just seen a blue and white one with a chrome piece at the back, both completely different trim levels and years too. Perhaps it was part of an optional extra pack?

honestly no idea, as a i say i have no idea what my trim level is as its not stated on the rear, although my car does have factory parking sensors fitted (although i doubt that makes a difference)

Do you have factory privacy glass?  Might have been part of an 'appearance pack'.  The chrome trim was fairly uncommon on the Mk2.5 Focus as well.

That made me think so I had to go out and have a look. 😄   Mines 2017 grey and painted.
