Tpms & Winter Wheels

Featured Replies

I've changed my wheels over to my winter set, which don't have the TPMS valve sensors in them, so i get the message saying TPMS malfuction requires service.

I understand you can't remove this without having valves fitted and the system re-programmed. It's not a problem i can live with the message and light on the dash for a few months while i have my winter wheels on.

What my question is when i put my summer wheels back on that have the TPMS valve sensors will the TPMS system automatically pick them back up? As these are what are currently programmed into the system?

Yes it should do as the parameters will be back in normal boundaries...

It now says 'Tyre sensors not detected see manual' when i start car now is this normal?

Thanks

Not sure as I don't have the system but I would reset the system.

would there be any point as my current winter set up don't have the sensors

I have been on two threads discussing this lol so finding myself lost.

If you don't have the sensors it's best to just ignore the warning and when your summer arrangement are returned all should clear up.

Am I right in saying you would put summer tyres on (potentially dangerous in the colder weather) just to get rid of a warning light?

Sorry, but I find that absurd.

Not quite but as the op changed wheels to accompany winter tyres and they don't have the sensors then it just throws errors. If the tyred where changed for winter it would have been fine. When the cold has passed and the summer wheels return with tyre and sensor then the error should be cleared.
