Do I Have The Heated Seats Elements?

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

I was reading some posts on this forum and I found out that some ford focus mk2 models came with the heated seats elements installed in the seats. Since I have no idea what to look for, I took some pictures from under the seats and hopefully someone more knowledgeable can tell me if I have them installed or not.

i'd say not.

although the wiring loom for heated seats *may* be present depending on the trim level of your car....

Should I remove the plastic and see if the wiring is present?

It a 1.6 tdci 80kw. I have no idea what trim level it is, since I got it used.

It has the standard radio, dual zone climate control and all electric windows.

no switches for heated seats = no heated seat elements fitted, there may be a connector ready for plugging them in but i would check where the switches should be and check for loose or taped up connectors

remember the connector block under seat as shown is you photo contains airbag wiring so leave well alone unless you know what your doing

I did it with the car turned off, so I didnt really see a reason for that.

The airbag system is still energised after switch off with capacitors... Be pointless if the engine cut just as you crashed and the airbags didn't go off lol...

5 mins with the engine off should be ok, but as the Focus (possibly all Fords same age) keeps the GEM awake for ages after switch off I wasn't sure if it'd keep power to the airbag circuit for all that time or not.

The car was not turned on for at least a day :)

I hope you don't mind me asking but if I would also take the wiring from the car that have the heated seats would it be possible to just run new cables through and connect to car console? And would that work?
