2 OF THESE CABLES DO THE SAME THING, THE SOT-092 from what i can see is for telephone,

I think it should be cable - http://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/stereo-fitting-accessories/autoleads-pc99-x50-ford-stalk-adaptor

the sales guy in halfords said i needed all these cables, plugged everything in and unit doesnt even come on. baffled!!

any ideas?

Your first mistake was going to Halfords. ;)

The second mistake was listening to some shaved monkey who works for halfords :p

The PC99-X50 cable you think is right is 100% correct.

Thanks stoney,

Is this why the unit wont be powering up then?

For sure, the Halfords biff has got your wiring in such a muddle I'd be surprised if he hasn't fried a fuse somewhere.

only fuse i can find to be blown is the cigarette lighter, plugged original radio back in and its getting power, A local installer says he will install the unit for £70. is this good value for money?

  • Author

replaced the fuse and the unit still doesnt power up. took the unit to my local fitter and he gets it powering up so a bit baffled

Sometimes the permanent and battery live wires need swapping around in the loom.
