The impact sockets are 6 point,, haven't looked into the rest of the range

Yeah but I mean in the standard chrome range. The only 6 point halfords sockets I have are the 1/2 deep ones. They other ones in my trays are all 12 point - 3/8 shallow and deep and 1/2 shallow.

1/4 drive always comes in 6 point as standard, halfords managed that ok lol.

Don't get me wrong it's always handy to carry 12 point if you do a range of work. the one always trying to catch me out was VW stuff, 12 point hub nuts or 12 point 9mm bolts on clutch cover plate lol.

And 12 point transit rear halfshaft bolts, I don't have 12point sockets as a rule. I do have a tape measure for that. Lol

On the subject of sockets, do you come across much torx plus Ian? I bought both male and female sockets incase I ever did and potentially ended up stuck but nothing so far.

Torx plus? What's that?

That's what vice grips are for!

Yes but you can't get the same FT with vice grips  my torque multiplier doesn't fit them lol

The tool I use most nowadays is the laptop, probably half my day taken up. And normally it's connected to a dirty diesel. Lol

The computer is destroying the job of the 'mechanic', oh sorry it's 'technicians' now isn't it lol.
