paul001
Typical. I've had my car for almost two years and hardly ever needed to use my fron heated screen, and a few days ago I tried it and nothing happened. The light didn't come on, on the button, and neither did the light for the back screen. I did press them a few times, so I wasn't sure if they were on or off and it was the lights not working, but I assume it was the while thing. I've just checked fuse 9 under the bonnet, and 26 and 27 behind the glove box. All looked okay. I noticed there is a relay R2 under the bonnet, but I didn't know if that can cause this, or how to check if it's broken. Would a multi-meter help? I've seen people mention similar thing here (half working, only front, etc), but this looks like all screen heating is off, and LEDs. Any ideas? It's a March 2013 model. iantt
Take it to ford dealer to fix, still under warranty.
paul001
Yep, I've booked it in. I'd thought of that yesterday, but I also thought there may be a very easy known fix for it. Getting it checked properly is the best way.
Zico
Afternoon Paul. I've got the same issue in my works Fiesta Van 62 plate. Only noticed it the other week when there was a bit of condensation on the rear screen. Did you find out what the issue was?
Ian Lanc
You know my windscreen heaters only work when the windows are misted or frosted, when the windows are clear they turn off by themselves. If I try to turn them on again the switches don't light up. Unsure if this a add on on the Titanium version though!

Hmm that's strange, the only thing I know of is the front heated screen will auto shut off after 4 minutes of use but I've been able to turn it back on after that with no issues. True mate, never been able to turn them back on, but if the windows mist up again, they will work again, if the windows are all clear the buttons do naff all. Maybe some sort of sensor to avoid using it by accident/wasting fuel on the titanium?

I could do with that after I tried to use mine to demist the windscreen and it wasn't working, I was getting pretty worried until I realized it was just the rain coming down so heavy it looked like mist! Heydude
Hi, Did you ever get anywhere with this, mine is a 2013 Titanium and displaying exact same fault. Would love to know if you got a resolution. Got mine booked in at the garage on the 24th but would be great if you had any info on yours. Tony.
m1tch
Its a Ford design fault, the wiper box/rods smack against the thin ribbons that power the window heater. Explained here:
Heydude
Hi, I can see how that would effect the front screen and potentially stop one side of the screen from operating, however both my front and rear screens are not even switching on at the switch, the little lights on the switches do not light up at all. Tony.

AndyH69
Just bought a titanium fiesta and the screens won’t work ! Found out I haven’t been using the master key and the screens don’t work with the spare one !
TomsFocus
Why wouldn't the screens work with a spare key?

I have a 3 year old zetec and both my keys (both flip keys, exactly the same if they still make a standard one) work the same.

Is it because the battery has worn out or certain batteries cannot take the load ?
pragmatix
Batteries tend to die around 5 years old some sooner depends on the load modern cars have so much technology this buts a strain on the battery
Strathspey
I've just had a garage report on the same issue. They told me it was a failure of the HVAC Module , and to replace it would cost £419.91. Since I use the heated screens only very few times in the year, I feel that I cannot justify this high cost, and will therefore do without heated screens.
