Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi Dashboard central lcd cluster intermittently working

Featured Replies

Hi, the central lcd cluster on the dashboard that displays current mileage, mileage remaining before re-fuelling etc works intermittently - i.e the display goes blank at random intervals. It would APPEAR/SEEM that there is a loose/bad connection to the display, or am i barking up the wrong tree? Could it be the lcd cluster itself?

I know the following might be stupid questions but here goes.........

If it was to be a loose connection, are the connection/s located behind the display?

If it is not a loose connection, what are the other possibilities that could cause this?

Are there any tests I could do to eliminate/prove what it may or may not be?

Many thanks for your help

Sounds like the common issue Focus has, of a faulty cluster.

If you remove the cluster, and ensure the connections are set, that should help, but if it doesnt resolve, you can send your instrument panel for repairs. I think its something like £30 if no fault found, or a repair for £99
