Boost problem

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new on the forum but I have a 2012 1.0 zetec s turbo focus which I've had a few years now, it's had a boost problem for the the past couple of years ford have changed the turbo and the issue is still there now it's out of warranty they havnt manage to fix it so now gotta sort it myself any ideas guys? Xx

Have they changed the recirc valve?

If it failed in warranty and they didn't fix it, then you should still be covered.

Different if it failed again outside warranty.

They can't just refuse to help any more because your warranty has run out.

And what are the symptoms? Overboost, underboost, etc

They changed the turbo I couldn't tell you off of the top of my head if they did the recirculation valve Aswell but will certainly look into it, it just looses power every now and then whilst under load I.e up hill sometimes with weight and then runs fine again abit later. Ask for the warranty I will be consulting with ford to try and get them do it still as they did refuse! Thanks for your comments

Does it put engine light on when it happens?

The recirc valve diaphragm can split and cause boost issues

The light has come on in the past but not as of recent even though the fault is still there I'll definitely look into the recirculation valve though thanks guys!

Its easy enough to remove, only 3 screws , then look at diaphragm to see for splits.
